Thursday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m., Varanese, 2106 Frankfort Ave., will host a Fall Harvest Feast, a special dinner with seasonal wine pairings chosen by sommelier John Johnson of The Wine Rack who has chosen different varietals to match Chef de Cuisine Erik Abraham’s 6-course menu, and who will be at the dinner to talk about his selections.

The menu will consist of these wines and dishes: Domaine Carneros Brut, Napa, California, served with steamed mussels, middleneck clams and with grilled baguettes; Foley Chardonnay, Sta. Rita Hills, paired with radicchio topped with Kenny’s Bleu Cheese, honey granola, and apple cider vinaigrette; St. Francis Old Vine Zinfandel, Sonoma County, paired with cherry-glazed roasted duck; “Turducken” – turkey, duck and chicken with sausage and cornbread-sage stuffing served with cranberry chutney and sautéed haricot verts; Sequoia Grove Cabernet Sauvignon, Rutherford, California, served with black pepper bacon wrapped pork tenderloin; and for dessert, Chocolate-Covered Sweet Potato Pie With Toasted Marshmallow and Roasted Walnuts, paired with Old 502 After Choc, from Louisville.
