Here are some quick hits on restaurant/food/drink events you might not want to miss starting tonight.

In case you didn’t see our post yesterday on the opening of Philly Steak & Burger, read here. It’s located right next door to Cumberland Brews. Go check it out so you can be among the first to say you’ve been there.

Tonight at Apocalypse Brew Works is the Cluster Trucked food truck mashup. This amazing microbrewery is hosting Holy Mole, GrindFrench Indo CanadaSweet N SavoryJohnny’s Diner Car and Lil Cheezers for food and suds. It’s all outdoors and the weather is going to be great.

  • Looking for something a little more upscale? The Original Maker’s Club is hosting an outdoor dinner at Foxhollow Farms in Oldham County. Trust us, if you’re up for impressing your date with a real treat, try this one. Read more to learn about what’s in store, but this is, arguably, the summer’s best outdoor dinner thus far.
  • If you can’t make it to the food truck event at Apocalypse Brew Works, you get another chance at this weekend’s Food Truck Sunday in Crescent Hill. The vent will feature six local food trucks and a mini-farmer’s market featuring The Root Cellar, Rocko’s Rewards, and Lowe Creek Farm, all set up on the lawn of St. Joe’s Children’s Home (2823 Frankfort Ave.) to fill your gullets and your shopping bags should skip your Saturday grocery run. Among the food trucks committed to the event are French-Indo Canada, Grind, Holy Mole, Johnny’s Diner Car, Lil Cheezers, Sweet’N’ Savory, and Homemade Ice Cream & Pie Kitchen. If you’ve got time to linger and walk around the area—and you’ll need to burn off some calories after eating—you should take in the neighborhood-wide yard sale and sidewalk sale at homes and businesses throughout Clifton and Crescent Hill. (That means you might want to add “drive pick-up truck” to your reminder list below “bring shopping bags.”)Though any gathering of food trucks as good as these is a worthy cause, an even worthier cause is St. Joe’s, which will receive a portion of proceeds spent on filling your pie hole. Remember, peeps, this group takes care of kids who need some extra lovin’, so dig deep, brothers and sisters! If this isn’t enough info for you, visit frankfortave.com or email andreimdmd@gmail.com with questions. The event is free and open to the public.
  • Every Thursday going forward this summer, Decca Restaurant will host a weekly Thursday Garden Get Down party featuring free live music starting at 4:30 p.m. Drink specials, including half price on all bottles of wine, a $2 featured beer, and a $5 signature cocktail be available as well. Get your seats on a first-come, first-served basis, and no reservations are required.
