Louisville’s food & beverage community continues to grow, shift and change as evidenced by these openings, expansions and moves we’ve gathered. 

Growler USA has opened 3010 Gottbrath Parkway in Jeffersonville and offers over 100 different craft beers. The full service restaurant offers a  full menu with food items you might expect in a bar like nachos and pretzels, sandwiches, burgers and salads, and also less common items like skillet mac and chicken with French Toast.

Farm To Fork, known for catering and working with farmers and artisans, has opened a cafe in Portland in what was once a firehouse at 2425 Portland Ave. The cafe is open Tuesday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The company will continue to offer catering and plans to also offer pop up events for the surrounding neighborhoods.

Owned by former University of Louisville and NBA basketball player Darrell Griffith (Dr. Dunkenstein), Griff’s has moved from its University of Louisville location to reopen downtown at 133 W. Liberty St in former Hurricane O’Malley’s location. They are open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to midnight on Friday and Saturdays. Their menu offers a variety of fried foods, southern food and burgers – including the “Fast Break” burger: Melted white cheddar cheese, over-hard egg, thick cut Applewood bacon, lettuce, tomato, and our praline sauce between homemade sweet potato waffles.

Mexa Steak Tacos, 3701 Lexington Rd, is opening a 2nd location downtown at 305 W. Market St in May 2019. That’s right next door to Bistro 301 at Third and Market St.

Scarlet’s Bakery, the non-profit bakery at 741 E Oak St. known for helping women get a new start in life,  is adding not one but two new locations. One location will open at 106 Fairfax Ave in St. Matthews (mid-February), and another will open in downtown Louisville (February 1)  in the Trust Center at 200 S 5th St. The bakery also offers the chance to order online or buy items online like cookie tins or t-shirts. You can also choose to donate ingredients to the bakery.

Jeff’s Bakery – This popular bakery at 5420 IN-62 in Jeffersonville is opening a second location with a separate owner in a strip center at 4430 Charlestown Road in New Albany.  Both locations will serve the same donuts,
