Diners eager for the 70s retro experience of eating by dipping stuff in hot liquids at the table have lost their prime opportunity. The fondue-focused restaurant The Melting Pot has closed the Louisville outlet as of Nov. 20.

The Melting Pot had served diners for a dozen years at their East End location at 2045 S. Hurstbourne Parkway. In announcing the closing on Facebook, the parent company of the franchise said that there are no current plans to re-open the Hurstbourne location, but that new franchisee interest in the Louisville or Lexington area will be welcome.

Potential franchisees are encouraged to contact Christina Hobbs, director of franchise development, at 813-425-6209 or chobbs@frontburnerbrands.com.

The Melting Pot has been operating its fondue-based menu concept since 1975, with 125 locations around the country, and in Mexico, Canada and Dubai.
