I’ve been seeing some pictures pop up about a new Mexican spot in New Albany. After a little research, all I’ve discovered is that Señor Iquanas owners are opening a new spot with a different name in the space once occupied by Dragon Kings Daughter on the corner of Elm and Bank.There isn’t much information online yet or any signs of an opening date for La Catrina Mexican Kitchen, but we’re excited.

Sometimes, we rely on tips from readers such as yourself. I was notified Sunday that Encore on Fourth, 630 S. Fourth St across from the Palace, has been closed permanently and features a sign posted on their door saying so. I haven’t been able to find any more information yet.

Ann’s By the River, 149 Spring St in Jeffersonville, is changing hands after 28 years of business and will be temporarily closed in November. The new owners say it will reopen, and you can read more about the details in this article from the News and Tribune.

Long awaited V-grits, a Southern style Vegan restaurant and False Idol brewery is now open at 1025 Barret Ave in the former Monkey Wrench location. We’ll be writing more on this soon.
