Moya’s American Kitchen has opened for business. The original target date was March 16, regrettably coinciding with the COVID shutdown. Last week the restaurant finally was able to pop the bubbly.

Interestingly, local news coverage has emphasized that Moya’s is located in a building formerly housing a Tumbleweed. Given that SOU! Southern Kitchen & Bar lies just “across the pond” in a reclaimed Skyline Chili outlet, it’s safe to say that Plainview is experiencing a significant restaurant upgrade renaissance in spite of the lingering pandemic.

“We are an American comfort food restaurant — sandwiches, burgers, chicken and dumplings, meatloaf, chicken and fish dinners, etc.,” Moya’s responded to a message earlier this year. “We will be open for lunch and dinner 7 days a week with a full-service bar area.”

A glance at the menu provides confirmation: Moya’s American Kitchen Menu. Hours are 11:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. Sunday – Thursday, and 11:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Friday and Saturday. The cover photo (courtesy of Moya’s) is the catfish sandwich.
