Hop in the car and head to Versailles to spend a summer evening at The Woodford Reserve Distillery.

Why? Because there’s going to be a feast prepared by chef-in-residence Ouita Michel and chef-de-cuisine Nat Henton on the premises. According to a news release, the team is putting on a one-of-a-kind buffet dinner centered on pork harvested from nearby farms.

(In case you don’t know, Michel’s real claim to fame is her ownership of Holly Hill Inn, Wallace Station, Midway School Bakery and Windy Corner Market.)

The afternoon will begin with a tour of The Woodford Reserve Distillery—always a neat experience—where guests will learn about the five sources of flavor that make bourbon unique.

The tour ends at the campus’s Dryer House, where guests will tuck into slow roasted pulled pork shoulder, smoked baby back ribs, pork loin with salsa verde, Cantonese-style pork belly, bourbon and sorghum glazed ham served with Thai slaw vinaigrette, loaded baked potato gratin, slow cooked greens, and an assortment of pies for dessert.

Heck, you even get two bourbon cocktails with the dinner: a choice of Woodford Reserve Blackberry Smash, Woodford Reserve Arnold Palmer or Woodford Reserve Bourbon poured neat.

So here’s the freaky thing: The evening costs just $50 plus tax. Seriously. That’s all. Michel’s food alone is worth that much, and two well-made Woodford cocktails poured at a decent bar would set you back half that nickel.

The event runs from 5 to 10 with dinner being served at 7.
