Jason Smith, General Manager of Gordon Biersch, was diagnosed with Parkinsons in his early forties, which led to him organizing this fundraiser out of a dedication to the Parkinson’s Support Center. The Parkinson Support Center is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing access to care, education, and social assistance to patients and families affected by Parkinson’s disease in Kentucky and Indiana. This event is in conjunction with the annual tapping of Gordon Biersch’s Maibock Lager brewed by Beer Master, Nick Landers.

Other local breweries across the region will have a guest tap at Gordon Biersch and host pint nights to benefit the Pints for Parkinson’s Foundation. Featured breweries and distilleries include Jim Beam, Sam Adams, Goodwood, Againt the Grain, Ethereal, Fall City, West 6th, and more.

Gordon Biersch will be offering $3 pints of their Maibock beer that evening starting at 5pm, with all proceeds of sales to benefit the Parkinson’s Center of Kentuckiana. In addition, GB and other 4th Street Restaurants including The Tavern, Sport and Social, Guy Fieri’s, and Birracibo, will be donating 10% of all dinner sales.

“Pints for Parkinson’s is more than a fundraiser for the Parkinson Support Center,” states Erika Branch, the Executive Director of Parkinson’s Support Center in a press release. “This is truly a partnership with Jason Smith, Gordon Biersch and Craftworks Foundation. The dollars raised during the Pints for Parkinson’s events has paid for education programs in multiple cities throughout Kentucky and Indiana. Most recently, 200 individuals impacted by Parkinson’s disease attended our 2017 Living Well with Parkinson’s Symposium, which was offered free to the community because of the generous donation from the Pints for Parkinson’s Foundation. ”

In addition to beer and great food, there will be a free concert from the Whiskey Bent Boys and Jericho Woods as well as a  silent auction, including items such as Louisville City FC BOX SEATS,Two Tickets to the Parkinson’s Center of Kentuckiana Annual Denim & Diamond Gala, Jim Beam Reserve Bourbons and Concert Tickets, Hotel / Dinner Packages, a chance to win a 10 year-old bottle of RIP Van Winkle, and much more.
