MESA, A Collaborative Kitchen will open MESA Kids Cooking School on Monday, July 16 at 154 E. Main St. in New Albany, just around the corner from MESA. The school will feature cooking camps, classes and themed events taught by the region’s top chefs and culinary instructors to children ages 7 to 14-years-old. Campers will be able to earn culinary patches in a chef’s black coat program (much like karate belts.)

The first summer camp  from July 16 to 20 will focus on Italian cuisine as part of a tour around the world camp series. Other camps in the following weeks will highlight baking around the world, French, and Mexican cuisines. MESA Kids Cooking School will celebrate its grand opening by hosting an open house drop-in event on Saturday, July 14 from 1 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served, and families will have the opportunity to see the space and enroll their children in a summer camp or cooking class.

Summer camps are available Monday through Friday in half-day sessions from either 9 a.m. to noon or 1 to 4 p.m. The cost for each week-long camp is $169 for members or $199 for non-members per student. Evening classes will begin on July 30.  For more information, visit mesakidscookingschool.com or follow Mesa Kids Cooking School on Facebook.
