8UP Elevated Drinkery + Kitchen is the rooftop restaurant, lounge, and bar atop the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown (350 West Chestnut Street), and it has cleverly resolved the perennial wintertime outdoor patio problem by taking ice cubes and making lemonade.
8UP invites Louisvillians and visitors to embrace the cold of the winter season in its six distinctive, fully enclosed igloos known as “IgLous.” Located on the sprawling rooftop with panoramic skyline views, the fully themed igloos make for an all-weather winter wonderland. Each of the six, clear domes on the eighth floor terrace are individually heated, providing an intimate spot to cozy up with table service experience while taking in sweeping city views.
Themes include the Diamonds and Fur igloo, the Red Velvet Lounge, the “flannel bedecked” Winter Lodge, and the Paradise-themedigloo (an island oasis). There’ll be multiple fire pits elsewhere on the terrace, and snow machines will be deployed to enhance the snow globe effect for those reserving an IgLou.
