Wednesday there was a sign on the door of The Standard Plate & Pour at 207 E. Main St. in New Albany, revealing the restaurant’s permanent closure. As of Thursday morning, the cessation also was noted at Standard’s Facebook page.
The Standard launched in summer 2019, transitioned into an events space with occasional themed dinners amid myriad pandemic dislocations, then mounted a big comeback in September 2021 with Reed Johnson as executive chef and a return to regular hours. Reviews were solid, but it wasn’t enough.
Owners Beau and Lindsey Kerley’s other two restaurants, 812 Pizza Company (Georgetown) and Tucker’s American Favorites (New Albany) remain open for business.
