Here at Food & Dining Magazine we help spread the word about APRON Inc. as often as possible.

APRON Inc. was created in 2011 to help provide financial relief to food and beverage industry workers in the Louisville, Kentucky metropolitan area who find themselves in need during times of crises. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, APRON Inc. has stepped up with a far greater volume of assistance to local workers than ever before. The virus put APRON Inc. to the test, with close to $350,000 in grants awarded to more than 600 employees from over 180 restaurants during the past three years.

“We are immensely proud of the help we were able to give back to our community, and are  humbled beyond words at the immense community, corporate, and foundation support we received throughout the past few years.”

On Sunday, October 9 APRON Inc. celebrates its 11th birthday with 10 Taste Salute!, a gala to be held at The Café (711 Brent Street) in Paristown.

An information release provides further background.

“All of us at APRON are so honored to highlight our independent restaurant community,” says Gary Fox, the non-profit’s president.

“Throughout the years, and especially through the recent craziness, they have come through for the Louisville community at large. Their call to action to help charities and those in need is admirable. For example, local restaurants sent hundreds of meals to the communities who suffered damage and loss from this year’s tornadoes and floods.

“The 10 Taste Salute is one of our largest fundraisers, which keeps our mission going
strong. We hope to see everyone on October 9 for an evening of wonderful food and
drink, our exciting auction, and friendships both old and new.”
