Cox’s Hot Chicken unexpectedly closed last week with no explanation and only a sign in the window saying that exciting news is coming soon.

However, while F&D was speaking with the Jeffersonville location’s co-owner Nick Nowinski about the addition of Goodwood Brewhouse and Live Room to their second and third floor, he informed us that the Jeffersonville location will remain as a Cox’s Hot Chicken and that the two locations are completely separate businesses.

“The two have different tax IDs and one does not affect the other,” said Nowinski. “We’re in great shape over at the Jeffersonville location, and there’s a lot to come that I’m very excited about.”

F&D tried to reach one of the owners at the New Albany location, but they were unavailable for comment.
