Come to the Local Speed art gallery (822 East Market) on Oct. 4 to see the work of Dan Dry, a multifaceted photographer who just so happens to do all the pictures for Food & Dining magazine.

The exhibit, titled “Dan Dry: Facing the World,” takes viewers on a journey across the world through the lens of the Louisville-based photographer and Chief Visual Officer at Power Creative. Dry shot many of the images while on assignment with National Geographic, while others in the exhibit were shot nearer to home.

As any Facebook fan of his knows, Dry is nearly as fond of his iPhone camera as he is his professional Nikon gear, and he mixes images made by both cameras.

Dry will host the unveiling Friday, Oct. 4 (same night as the East Market First Friday Trolley Hop) from 5-8 p.m. In addition to photos, expect a cash bar and live music.

Local Speed is open from 12-8 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 822 East Market. Dry’s show runs through November.
