After all that decorating–finding the Derby glasses, polishing the mint julep cups, cutting up all those little slips with the horses’ names for the guests to pull out of a hat–making a meal can seem just too much. Luckily, this year Bristol Catering is offering pre-ordered to-go meals for Kentucky Derby gatherings. All you’ll have to do is pick up the meal.

All food will be prepped, cooked and packaged, ready to warm and serve at home. Custom-created menus for at least 20 people may include Hot Brown casserole, house-smoked pork, maple-cured salmon, grits and party trays. All orders must be pre-paid and placed before 4 p.m. on Monday, April 27. Meals will be available for pick-up Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, May 2 from 10 a.m. to noon.

All Derby party meals will be prepared by the newest addition to Bristol Catering, chef Richard Doering, who has served as executive chef at the Bristol Bar and Grille in Jeffersonville, since 2008.
