Loop 22 was supposed to open today, Tuesday, Jan. 7, but the restaurant’s pipes froze overnight. As a result, the opening is pushed back to Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Got dinner plans? If not, here’s a good start.
Adam Burress and Chase Mucerino, owners of Hammerheads and Game restaurants in Louisville, have partnered with Eric Morris to open a third restaurant, Loop 22, today at 5 p.m.
Named for its Douglass Loop location (2222 Dundee Road, to be precise), Loop 22 will specialize in modern southern cuisine and slow-cooked rotisserie meats. Featured dishes will include chicken n’ dumplings with rotisserie chicken, and bone-in short ribs.
According to a news release, this is the largest of the three restaurants owned by Burress and Mucerino. It features 90 seats and a full bar (also a first) managed by Michael Taylor. (The bar is licensed for package liquor sales as well.)
Morris will oversee the kitchen along with Chip Hartley and Mich’l Richardson. In addition to Burress, Mucerino, also chefs, the team has worked in local restaurants such as Blu Italian Grille, Seviche, Jeff Ruby’s, Feast BBQ, The Oakroom, Zanzabar, and, of course, Hammerheads and Game.
The restaurant will serve dinner only, Monday to Thursday, 5-10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 5-11 p.m. The bar and package liquor sales are available until midnight.
