Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia and MilkWood will star in the upcoming season of the PBS series “The Mind of a Chef.”

Under executive producer Anthony Bourdain, the show’s format,considers, according to PBS’s press material, “what it truly means to cook, think, create and live in the food-obsessed world that is the mind of a chef.”

Lee and Swedish chef Magnus will each travel the world to understand ingredients, techniques and the cuisines of different places.

Lee’s explorations take him from Kentucky, where he will consider the culinary uses of sorghum, and try to find new things to discover about bourbon, to Argentina, a country Lee has always wanted to visit.”

Lee said he worked closely with the show’s producers in determining the content. “They respect the philosophy of what I’m doing. It’s really thrilling to get to have a say in everything.”

Three episodes of the program, which airs this fall, beginning Sept. 6 on PBS, have been filmed so far.
