The Courier-Journal reported recently on plans by Heather Burks and James Gunnoe, owners of Eiderdown, the popular Germantown restaurant on Goss Ave., to expand into adjacent properties—if the Zoning Board will approve a change from non-conforming residential to commercial.

The plans filed with the Zoning Commission call for demolishing a vacant warehouse behind the corner property for a parking lot, and looking for some sort of retail use for the duplex, as well as petitioning for a liquor license. Eiderdown has been operating for three years now with just a beer and wine license, and the owners say they have lost some business because they can’t offer hard spirits.
