Update: In a May 14 article by Brooke McAfee at the News and Tribune, Falls City Brewing’s president Jason Wade credited Falls City Kitchen’s manager Jamie Morgan for the impetus in launching the restaurant (hence the BrisketnFriends connection), which is being referred to by all involved as a Falls City’s “sports bar,” offering “sandwiches, burgers (and) wings,” and pouring eight Falls City beers on draft. I looked at Falls City Brewing’s page at Fb and saw no mention whatever of Falls City Kitchen’s arrival. But I think by aggregating the information collected here, at various times and by various means, you’ll get the idea. While I’m at it, why on earth compete with your own brewery’s beers by selling mass market brands? Heavens; I should travel around dressed as Diogenes, smacking people on the noggin with gently used gold clubs — RB

This much is known: Falls City Kitchen has opened for business at 826 W. Main St. in New Albany, which is the side of Main Street situated west of State, as you’re traveling toward Caesars Southern Indiana (via State Road 111).

You’ll notice that the opening announcement at Facebook comes not from Falls City Kitchen, but via BrisketnFriends. As there does not seem to be a menu posted on-line, this might constitute a clue.

Ownership of the property and the Alcohol and Tobacco Commission operating permit both can be traced to corporations registered to John Neace and his far-flung empire; 901 E. Liberty in Louisville is Falls City Brewing’s address, etc., so I’m surmising that BrisketnFriends is acting rather like the landlord at an English pub, cooking, managing and pouring.

If we’re lucky, there’ll be a few Falls City beers available.

The building was purchased by Neace some years back, and previously housed JR’s Pub, Fieldhaus and Brownie’s The Shed.

Previously at F & D, we surveyed the bullishness of the food and drink business as presently displayed in New Albany.
