As the cold sets in, Louisville foodies will start looking for ways to have some fun in warm and cozy spots. HopCat, 1064 Bardstown Rd, now offers just such a spot with the new game room that opened last night (October 19), featuring a pretty cool mural from artist Kyle Degroff.

The bar and restaurant known for having a tremendous amount of drafts also serves food and allows under 21 until 9 p.m. They also serve brunch “right meow” on Sundays, and that sounds like a pretty rad alternative to fancy sit down brunches if you’re someone who likes to be up and about.

The new game room features a huge projected Mario Kart video wall plus two sets of Cornhole, darts, shuffleboard, two arcade basketball machines, a couple golf arcade games,  an NBA game, and some old school arcade cabinets like X-men, Mortal Kombat or Ninja Turtles. Hidden away in the furthest corner to the right of the huge Mario Kart wall, there is a cabinet boasting 150 classic video games. The best part? All the games are free until further notice. Free arcade basketball? My favorite! Sounds like I can let my gym membership go.

HopCat is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 12 a.m. and until 2 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The game room is open anytime they are.
