The operators of the popular gourmet burger truck, Grind, have opened a restaurant at 3311 Preston Hwy., across from the entrance to the Fairgrounds.

Grind Burger Kitchen is the newest professional move for Liz and Jess Huot, who will continue to grill and serve out of their truck at special events, such as the Flea Off Market and others.

For the nonce, operations will be for lunch only, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Once they are confident after their break-in period, they plan to open for dinner service as well.

Food truck regulations wisely prohibit deep fryers, so the truck has not been able to offer burgers’ natural side dish, French fries, but the restaurant will have them on the menu, along with, of course, Grind’s already-famous curry ketchup, which they are bottling and retailing, as well.
