It’s been a little over four months since Diamond Station called it quits.

Diamond Station’s owner pens an eloquent closing note

Now Cort Muller and David Theilen have opened Highlands Bar & Grill in Diamond Station’s former location at 2280 Bardstown Road. The new owners were Diamond Station regulars, and they dished their story to Michael L. Jones at Louisville Business First.

In addition to beer and cocktails, Highlands Bar & Grill serves appetizers, sandwiches, burgers, hotdogs and salads. Prices range from $5.50 to $13.

“It’s typical bar food. Kind of our little niche is that all of the sauces, all of our dressings and everything, I handmake from my grandparents’ recipes,” Theilen added. “They are 100-year-old recipes. The blue cheese, the ranch and the buffalo sauce are phenomenal. I will make them twice a week, so it will be very consistent.”

Highlands Bar & Grill will observe opening hours daily.
