Downtown certainly has a strong selection of places for office workers to eat lunch, but a new one, Hot Box Eatery, will open soon at 438 W. Market St., at the corner of Fifth.
The new lunch restaurant will be run by the Kroon family, who have had prior restaurant experience in town with Adriaan’s Around the Table on Beckley Station Road and Adriaan’s at Limestone Bay, a private club in Prospect. The Kroons’ son Norman will be the chef, making fresh soups, salads, sandwiches, wraps and daily specials. Some menu choices will be a brie and salami wrap, Indonesian chicken peanut satay, pork schnitzel, a turkey club wrap and a gyro – in other words, an appealingly diverse selection.
The hours of operation will be 11 a.m. -2 p.m. Monday through Friday – pretty logical for a downtown lunch business plan, with the possibility of adding breakfast service once the family gets into the rhythm of things.
