Apron, the local organization that helps fund restaurant workers facing medical or other money problems, will get another boost, this time from Joella’s Hot Chicken, the latest concept from Louisville restaurateur Tony Palombino. Joella’s Hot Chicken will throw a party to kick-off the benefit program.

The benefit program will start tonight, Monday, Oct. 12, with a party from 6:30pm-8:30 p.m.  at Joella’s Hot Chicken, 3400 Frankfort Ave. Joella’s  will be offering a complimentary buffet, cash bar, and Joella’s t-shirts for sale.

Then, customers who wear a Joella’s Hot Chicken t-shirt when ordering will receive 10% off their chicken plate and the same amount  will then be donated to Apron, Inc. If you can’t come to the party, t-shirts are available for purchase online at joellashotchicken.com, or at the store. Buying a t-shirt when you order a chicken plate at the store gives you 25% off that chicken plate; wearing that t-shirt every time you visit Joella’s will get you a 10% discount, and 10% gets donated to Apron.

In a press release, Palombino said, “Louisville has a great restaurant community and hundreds of hard working industry workers. Apron, Inc. helps workers who are experiencing financial distress to get back on their feet. Joella’s participation is our way of helping support the people that make Louisville such a great restaurant town.”
