If you drop in at the newest addition to the dining scene in the Douglas Loop, Loop 22, you will find a new season menu highlighting lighter fun fare.

Spring and summer dishes replace the heavier cold weather ones.  Now look for items like a watermelon and honeydew salad with fresh local greens, basil, feta cheese, and an organic honey-balsamic vinaigrette.

Or, choose the country ham sliders on buttermilk biscuits, whole fried Cornish hen, roasted bone marrow crab cake (served in the bone), roasted corn and crab bisque, or a “BLT” with fried green tomatoes, over-easy egg, crispy bacon, and a smoked horseradish aioli.

Patio seating is now open, and the restaurant has begun serving Sunday brunch, featuring, of course,  pitchers of bloody Marys, and mimosas made with other citrus juices, not just orange.

Loop 22 is at 2222 Dundee Rd.  Phone is 882-3279
