“We love Fern Creek. We’ve had a lot of people come out during the soft opening and say Fern Creek needs something like this.”
— Melt 502 co-owner Reinaldo Murphy, speaking with Louisville Business First

Melt 502’s progression from ghost kitchen and food truck to bricks and mortar in Fern Creek is captured by reporter by Michael L. Jones at Louisville Business First.

Hip hop-themed grilled cheese restaurant Melt 502 opens in Fern Creek,

Melt 502 had a soft opening last week in its new 3,200 square foot space at 6318 Bardstown Road, which previously housed Sunny’s Bar & Grill, Creekers Bar, and Michael E’s. According to the Jefferson County PVA, the property is owned by Ferndale LLC.

Jones points out that Melt 502’s owners describe their eatery as a “hip hop Hard Rock Cafe,” with menu offerings including various grilled cheese sandwiches, patty melts, egg rolls, and salads.

Previously at Food & Dining Magazine: “Warning! These are not the bland grilled cheese sandwiches that your mother made. These are handcrafted gourmet sandwiches that are definitely unique and well thought out.”
