At Louisville Business First, reporter Haley Cawthon has more on the story. Mussel & Burger Bar Jeffersontown continues operating as it has since May 2020.

Prior to Covid-19, the popular South Seventh Street restaurant had relied on office and tourist foot traffic that filled the Central Business District. With the loss of traffic, Mussel & Burger Bar closed its downtown location on March 19, 2020, and like several other downtown restaurants, it didn’t reopen when indoor dining restrictions were eased in late May.

Instead, Mussel & Burger Bar management shifted its focus to the Jeffersontown location, which could seat 80 people at 33% capacity and even more when capacity was increased to 50%. The Taylorsville Road restaurant also had room for 50 people on its patio.

In 2015, Mussel & Burger Bar’s second location filled the downtown space formerly occupied by St. Charles Exchange.
