Butchertown Grocery, 1076 E. Washington St. introduced a new summer lunch menu recently, and LouVino, 1606 Bardstown Rd. has tweaked its evening offerings to suit the new season. Louvino is also on the verge of opening a second location at 11400 Main St. in Middletown.

Butchertown Grocery Chef Bobby Benjamin’s new lunch menu, available  from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, features lighter fare for the summer including salads, sandwiches and smaller entrees.

The new seasonal lunch menu includes watermelon gazpacho, avocado tartine with poached egg, summer squash and zucchini with pepitas, alfalfa sprouts and roasted tomato. A  pecan salad with blue cheese ice cream, a dish Benjamin has been working to perfect for some time, is also on the new menu.

New dishes from LouVino executive chef Tavis Rockwell include braised pork nachos with pork rinds, peppers and poblano tomato sauce; BBQ grilled pork tenderloin served with warm potato salad; Cajun corn pudding with andouille and crispy okra; crispy calamari salad with ginger dressing; and roasted pepper and asparagus risotto.

he second LouVino location in Douglass Hills is is now shooting for a July 20 opening. The new location will feature seating for 100 guests inside, a private event space for 45 and a patio with dining and lounge area. The suburban location will also be open for lunch.
