Three restaurants open within the last year or so have now opened additional spaces at their locations. River House, John Varanese’s long-time dream restaurant on the Ohio River, has opened The Levee, the small plates with dining entertainment  space right next door. Le Moo has opened its performing space, Blue Moo, and Galaxie Bar has opened its outdoor patio, dubbed The Outer Space, behind the Green Building.

The Levee’s menu offerings include oysters on the half shell, house-cured local charcuterie, a pickle plate, salads, and a variety of tacos, slicers and flatbreads. The entertainment offerings at Varanese in Clifton lean to John Varanese’s taste in cool jazz, but he says he plans a wider selection of music for The Levee, 3015 River Rd., this summer.

Blue Moo, the performance room in the Le Moo complex, 2300 Lexington Rd., seats 72 in the extravagant style of Le Moo. Owner Kevin Grangier plans to showcase singers and small bands playing classic dinner house jazz music.

Galaxie, 732 E. Market St. in NuLu open its entertainment venue and outdoor bar called The Outer Space just in time for Derby. Located in back courtyard of The Green Building, behind Galaxie, the space is partially covered and will feature free live music every Friday and Saturday this summer.
