For the past 10 years, The Black Italia Griglia Cucina (“grill kitchen”) has been conceiving, cooking and catering family-style to-go orders infusing “the taste of homemade Italian and soulful charcoal grilled flavors.”

The Black Italian Griglia Cucina was created and founded by a Soul Husband and Italian Wife team! The Black Italian offers Authentic Italian Soul cuisine cooked with love and a mission to bring family and friends together for food and fellowship.

Now the owners Anthony and Paul Hunter have shifted operations from a commissary kitchen in Beuchel to a storefront at 2009 Highland Avenue in the Highlands. It’s a space that recently housed Ramen Inochi.

The Hunters have confirmed to Food & Dining Magazine that The Black Italian will open at their new Highlands location on Wednesday, November Nov. 6th, serving carry-out dinners Tuesday through Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., with plans to expand to lunchtime hours in early 2020.

This is long overdue…and with much given is much expected! We have been beyond blessed, beyond amazed and beyond…

“This is long overdue…and with much given is much expected! We have been beyond blessed, beyond amazed and beyond thankful for God’s favor and covering and the outpouring of support from our Fam, Friends and the Community in supporting our business, The Black Italian Griglia Cucina, LLC. Words will never express the gratitude we feel and the overwhelming emotions that we felt in seeing SO many people come to our 10th anniversary celebration and soft opening of our first ever brick and mortar!”
