After more than a year of renovations, Red Hot Roasters opened a second 1,500 square foot location in Butchertown at 1007 E. Main St. on Saturday, December 9.  Unlike their drive-thru only location at 1399 Lexington Road, this  spot will be a more  traditional “sit down” coffee shop without a drive-thru that will have a grand opening after the holidays. Their current hours  in Butchertown are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday / Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Red Hot Roasters is owned by Sandra Powell and her brother Jason Powell who said, “We have always wanted to have people be able to come in and hang out and be a part of the neighborhood, but it had not been feasible for us in other locations.”

Jason went on to say that the new location is part of the Butcher Block development, which ties several businesses together with a shared courtyard in the back.

“Andy Blieden is a really nice landlord and approached us about moving there,” he explained. “He’s a big reason we are there, and the courtyard was also really attractive to us.”

Both locations will offer the same coffees, Wiltshire Pantry pastries and Ehrler’s pints of ice cream.
