If you have been reading the Thanksgiving food stories that have been appearing already, and sighing with resignation at the prospect of having to cook something spectacular, here is a list of the local restaurants who will be serving Thanksgiving dinners on Nov. 23. If you want someone else to cook that turkey for you, better make reservations soon. (We will post additional Thanksgiving dinner offerings as they come to our attention).

Brown Hotel, 335 W. Broadway, will offer two dining choices.

J. Graham’s Café will serve a holiday brunch buffet rom 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Diners can choose breakfast items such as breakfast casserole, Belgian waffles with specialty bourbon syrup and made‑to‑order omelets, or they can opt for Tewes Farm turkey, prime rib from the rotisserie and many side dishes. For dessert, there will be holiday bread pudding, and various seasonal patisserie and sweets. The cost is $42 for adults; $18 for children ages 4 to 12; and complimentary for children under age 4. Seating times are available at 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m.

From 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., the English Grill will serve a formal Thanksgiving meal. The appetizer buffet selection will include shrimp and andouille gumbo, Hot Brown canapes, shrimp cocktail, Jonah crab claws, oysters on the half shell, house‑baked breads and a variety of salads. At the table, entrée selections will be turkey with braised leek stuffing; pan‑seared scallops; or beef tenderloin. An assortment of seasonal sweets and patisserie creations will be on the dessert buffet. The cost is $69 for adults; $22 for children ages 4 to 12; and complimentary for children under age 4.

Butchertown Grocery’s Thanksgiving Day menu will include roasted spaghetti squash salad, smoked rotisserie turkey and herb-stuffed porchetta, many side dishes (potatoes and sweet potatoes, roasted parsnips and carrots, fried Brussels sprouts with cranberries and pine nuts, among others) and chocolate cream pie, pumpkin pie and beignets for dessert.

All four Bristol Bar & Grille locations will offer a traditional Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Thanksgiving favorites, served buffet-style, are sourced locally from Bristol’s farming partners. Cost is $25.95 per adult or $7.95 for children ages 4 to 11. Alcoholic beverages, including Bristol’s wine hand-picked by Master Sommelier Scott Harper, will be available for purchase. Reservations can be made by calling each respective restaurant.

A good way to show holiday visitors a classy overview of today’s Louisville is Thanksgiving dinner at 8UP Elevated Kitchen + Bar, 350 W. Chestnut St., atop the Hilton Garden Inn.

Executive chef Casper Van Drongelen will prepare a number of “elevated” a la carte Thanksgiving specials, ranging from $22 to $28, including turkey roulade with roasted breast, braised legs, cornbread stuffing, green beans, fried onions and gravy; and roasted prime rib with au gratin potatoes, broccoli and horseradish crème fraiche. For dessert, pastry chef Amanda Hammed is offering pumpkin pie with maple and black pepper; and chocolate molten lava cake with orange dreamsickle cream. 8UP’s regular menu will also be available that day.

For those who might like a less traditional venue for Thanksgiving dining, Red Herring Cocktail Lounge, 1757 Frankfort Ave., will be open 4 p.m. until 2 a.m. Nov. 23. Chef Jacob Coronado will cook up Thanksgiving feast featuring all the traditional accouterments made from scratch.
