The end of June will see a few special dinners offered by area restaurants, with a pair of dinners bringing coastal seafood boils to us landlocked shrimp fans, a sampling of California wines and Bourbon and local farm foods.

Roux, 1325 Bardstown Rd., celebrates Father’s Day twice, Saturday June 20 and Sunday June 21, with a traditional New Orleans boil, which will include shrimp and crawfish, corn on the cob, boiled potatoes and andouille sausage. A raffle to benefit Kosair Children’s Hospital will offer a stainless steel BBQ grill as a prize. All you can eat buffet for $19.95. Call (502) 530-0531

Saturday June 27 at 6:30 p.m. 610 Magnolia will continue to treat land-locked Louisvillians to a summer shore dinner, a traditional Low Country seafood boil, the makings flown in fresh from the coast. The dinner will be served family style in the Wine Studio across the street from the restaurant. Cold craft beers, and wine too, will be available at extra cost. The dinner will be $55. Tuesday June 23 at 6:30 p.m., Varanese, 2106 Frankfort Ave., will host a six-course wine dinner featuring the wines from the Wagner Family of Wine. Jake Wolf of Southern Wine and Spirits will be on hand to discuss his choices of wine pairings during the meal. Chef John Varanese’s menu will include balsamic-marinated strawberries and goat cheese salad, pureed smoked parsnip soup, peppercorn-seared Hawaiian ahi tuna carpaccio, seared duck breast with bleu cheese and pancetta risotto, espresso-rubbed Wagyu brisket and honey-lavender cheesecake for dessert.

Sunday, June 28, beginning at 5:30 p.m., Holly Hill Inn, 426 North Winter St. Midway will host a “summer soiree” in conjunction with the Original Makers Club. Holly Hill Inn’s chef Ouita Michel’s menu will be focused on fresh local farm products, with Woodford Reserve cocktails and entertainment by the Leestown String Band, on the front lawn of the restaurant.
