Inaugural Skillet Curling Competition at Paristown’s Fête de Noël

Louisville and Southern Indiana Bars face off to raise funds for Apron, Inc.

NOVEMBER 17, 2024 (Louisville, KY) – Paristown has announced the Inaugural Skillet Curling Competition, presented by The Alcove, will take place on Monday, December 2nd from 5pm-9pm at Fête de Noël’s Crystal Ice Skating Rink. Sixteen teams from local bars in Louisville and Southern Indiana will face off in a single-elimination tournament using iron skillets in place of the sport’s traditional granite stones. The winner of the tournament receives bragging rights and the coveted Golden Skillet to display at their bar for the year. “We are thrilled to work with our Southern Indiana neighbors to bring this new event to Fête de Noël that offers excitement for spectators, builds connections with local businesses and raises money for this great non-profit that does so much to help independent service industry workers,” said Steve Smith, Paristown’s Managing Partner.

The Skillet Curling Competition was launched by The Alcove last year and took place at the now sidelined Jeffersonville Ice Rink. “We’re excited to grow the event this year and expand it to include our friends from many great Louisville bars,” said Alcove Co-owner Chris Palmer. “Plus, Paristown is a great new location for us to all come together and raise money for our fellow service industry workers.” All entry fees from participating bars and proceeds from a silent auction will be donated to Apron, Inc.

Participating bars in the Inaugural Skillet Curling Competition are: Awry Brewing, Darling’s, Dragon King’s Daughter, Game Restaurants, Hauck’s Corner, Harry’s Taphouse & Kitchen, Highlands Bar & Grill, Match Cigar Bar, NoraeBar, O’Shea’s, Pints & Union, Tartan House, The Blue Aux, The Alcove, The Café, The MerryWeather.
