Though two restaurants in the St. Matthews area have closed recently, Logan’s Roadhouse and Majid’s, both sites will soon be occupied by new restaurant businesses.

Louisville-based national chainTexas Roadhouse plans to build a new location at the site of a former Logan’s Roadhouse at 5055 Shelbyville Rd. The Logan’s Roadhouse at that site closed in August, as a result of the company’s retrenchment in a bankruptcy reorganization.

Texas Roadhouse is a growing concern, with over 400 restaurants in 49 states and four foreign countries. There are currently five locations in the Louisville area, including one in Clarksville, Ind. The Logan’s St. Matthews building will be razed, and a new structure built on the site. No deadline has yet been determined for the new restaurant.

The other St. Matthews dining spot that has changed hands ins Majid’s, at 3930 Chenoweth Square. Majid’s closed in November, after a run of about 6 years. Louisville Business First reports that part of the Majid’s space will be taken over by Paul’s Market to expand that popular food retailer, but the rest of the restaurant will be occupied by Tikka House, an Indian restaurant.  An opening is expected some time in the spring.
