After all the hoopla surrounding Thunder over Louisville, the next big Derby Festival event is Tuesday, April 26, Dare to Care’s Taste of Derby, which starts at 5:30 p.m. in the Hall of Fame Pavilion at Slugger field, 401 E. Main St.

The Taste of Derby has been going on as long as the Derby Festival itself has been coordinating events. It is a prime showcase for the Louisville area’s restaurants and chefs, who donate their time and their food for the cause of hunger relief in the city. More than 50 Louisville restaurants participate, and there will also be a bourbon tasting, a Bloody Mary Contest, wine tasting and a silent auction.

Participating restaurants will offer a selection of signature appetizers, entrées and dessert items. Some of the liquor vendors will feature small-batch brands not commonly available. All proceeds benefit the Dare to Care Food Bank, which last year helped more than 192,000 people in the area.

Tickets are $80 ($50 is tax deductible). to purchase tickets, click here. https://www.eventbrite.com/e/taste-of-derby-festival-2016-tickets-21212065860
