There’ll be a new outdoor event in Jeffersonville this year: Augtoberfest, a family-friendly block party that will be held on Friday, Aug. 30 from 5:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m.

Augtoberfest will take place in the 400 block of Pearl Street in downtown Jeffersonville, featuring beer, food, music and games. It is hosted by Pearl Street Taphouse (407 Pearl St.) and Antz Marching LLC (that’s the business consulting service of former Keg Liquors owner Todd Antz).

A portion of the proceeds will benefit Jeffersonville Main Street’s nonprofit downtown revitalization work.

The explanatory text:

What is Augtoberfest? The funny thing about the beer industry is how early seasonal beers seem to be released. For fall seasonal beers like Oktoberfests, Pumpkin Beers, and other autumn delights, they are generally released in early August, sometimes even at the end of July. While that release schedule sometimes doesn’t make sense, sometimes you have to take lemons and make some lemonade. Or in our case, take some Oktoberfest and make it Augtoberfest. So join us on Friday, August 30 on the 400 block of Pearl Street as we launch the inaugural Pearl Street Augtoberfest. We’ll have plenty of fall beers, live music, German-style food, and plenty of fun things to do.
