If you like smoke in your drink, in your mouth and in the air, here’s a dinner for you.

Tonight at 7 p.m., Bourbons Bistro will put on a three-course bourbon and cigar dinner at its restaurant at 2255 Frankfort Avenue.

Tobacconist J. Paul Tucker will present cigar selections, and Bernie Lubbers, Heaven Hill’s “Whiskey Professor” will talk about the evening’s distillates. Well, actually, Lubbers never just talks, he effuses. Fun, passionate speaker.

Oh, yeah, executive chef Jeff Bridges’ food will be the backbone of the event. Here’s his menu:

First Bite: Roasted Garlic and Goat Cheese with Toast Points

Second Bite: House-Cured Berkshire Pork Belly

Third Bite: Lobster Bruschetta with Toasted Bread

Guests will receive two samplings of Heaven Hill bourbons and two selected cigars. Cost is $45 per person plus tax and gratuity and space is limited (sorry we didn’t mention this earlier). Please call 502-894-8838 to make reservations or email events@bourbonsbistro.com. We’re thinking you probably should call given the late notice.
