In our Spring 2020 issue, BurgerIM was previewed.

St. Matthews has a new burger place, BurgerIM (3733 Lexington Rd.). In addition to several kinds of beef patty, BurgerIM also puts falafel, chicken, lamb and salmon between buns.

Unfortunately the franchise closed for good after the conclusion of service last weekend.

Meanwhile downtown at 211 S. 5th St., All Thai’d Up’s bricks and mortar location is coming to a conclusion this week, with a final shift on Thursday, May 4.

At LBF, Michael L. Jones takes a closer look, and what he seems to be seeing is that opinion about business prospects downtown remains divided: All Thai’d Up to close restaurant in Downtown Louisville on May 4.

Katherine Aphaivongs, owner of All Thai’d Up, said the restaurant at 211 S. Fifth St. will close permanently on Thursday, May 4.

Aphaivongs blamed the closure on the dearth of Downtown office workers and the proliferation of crime in the area.

“It was not last week, but the week before, I had two people arrested literally in front of my restaurant. I was just like, ‘I can’t do this anymore,'” Aphaivongs explained. “I gave it a shot. I love Downtown, but it’s just scary. And even Thunder [Over Louisville], it was such a horrible turnout. So, many of my friends either barely broke even or lost money.”
