Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30 p.m. Brasserie Provence, 150 N. Hurstbourne Pkwy., will host a 5-course dinner featuring wines from Washington State vineyards. Tim Stratman, Certified Specialist in Wine for Vanguard Wines, will be at the dinner to comment on his choices of wines from Disruption and Latta, two labels run by Kentucky native Andrew Latta, who founded Latta Wines in 2011 “after being most impressed with Washington State terroir among all the emerging and traditional wine-growing regions in the US,” according to a press release from Brasserie Provence.

Brasserie Provence Chef Patrick Gosden’s menu reflects the cuisine of both Washington State and Kentucky. The dinner will start with Thai-style geoduck paired with Disruption Riesling. The fish course will be salmon ménage à trois featuring king, sockeye and coho salmon paired with Disruption Chardonnay. The entrées will be elk apple sausage with Monterey Jack cheese grits paired with Disruption Cabernet Sauvignon, followed by a bison & pork meat loaf with sweet potato biscuit and chanterelles mushroom paired with Latta Malbec.

The final course will be Epoisse cheese and frisée salad, caramelized apples and candied hazelnuts paired with the Latta Grenache 2012, which was 87th on the 100 best wines in the world from Wine Enthusiast.

The dinner and wine pairings will be $75. Call (502) 883-3153. Wines will be available for purchase with 15% discount through Westport Whiskey & Wine.
