Editor’s note: The featured photo is of Glow Worm’s Highlands location, not the one in Beechmont described below. The Highlands Glow Worm remains open for business.

Here at Food & Dining Magazine, we get a great many things right, but every now and then we swing and miss (as an aside, back in the day, Reggie Jackson was almost as entertaining striking out as hitting a home run), as with the news that Glow Worm Cafe & Play has closed its location at 304 W. Woodlawn in Beechmont.

We missed the opening last October, so let’s play catch up, relying on our friend and ex-colleague Michael L. Jones at Louisville Business First.

Glow Worm Café & Play closes one of its locations

A kid-friendly café, bakery, and indoor playground has closed its Beechmont location after less than a year in business.

Glow Worm Café & Play closed at 304 W. Woodlawn near the Louisville StrEatery, a South Louisville food hall, on June 15. The 1,500 square foot Beechmont café opened in October 2023.

It offered a play space, coffee and baked goods prepared in-house at Glow Worm’s Highlands bakery.

Glow Worm’s two remaining cafes are the original (962 Barret Ave. in the Highlands) and 11603 Hazelwood Road in Anchorage.
