Karaoke means “hollow orchestra” in Japanese. You fill the void—drunk or sober, on-key or off. Part of the allure is for the amateur to wrest the microphone away from the stars and, for a moment, to take their place in the limelight.
Owner Mikyong Miller’s formula at her new Miki’s Korean Restaurant and Karaoke Bar in Clifton aims to please: simple and fast Korean finger food (fried rice, ramen and Korean-in-a-cup), a full bar, and karaoke.
The remodeled commercial space on Frankfort Avenue, now occupied by Miki’s, has a rich pedigree.
Miki’s Korean Restaurant and Karaoke Bar opens in former Jake & Elwood’s restaurant in Clifton, by Michael L. Jones (Louisville Business First)
Miki’s Korean Restaurant and Karaoke Bar, located at 2230 Frankfort Ave., opened on Oct. 17. The nearly 5,000-square-foot space was previously occupied by Jake & Elwood’s, which closed in June.
Before Jake & Elwood’s, the restaurant was previously home to Steve-O’s Italian Kitchen. Steve-O’s replaced Clifton Pizza Co., which closed unexpectedly in 2018 after nearly 30 years in business.
