Late last summer the owners of New Albany’s venerable Honey Creme Donut Shop (514 Vincennes St.) announced that they were seeking a buyer, and an auction process was arranged, which ultimately did not yield a new investor. They carried on, but now the business will shutter after a final day of business on Monday, March 3.
Here is the text from Facebook.
Dear Valued Customers and Friends,
After nearly 80 years of serving the New Albany community with love, laughter, and delicious donuts, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the permanent closure of Honey Crème Donuts. Our family has cherished every moment of this journey since the mid-1940s, but the time has come for us to turn the page and step away from this beloved tradition.
Our final day of operation will be March 3 2025
We are grateful for the generations of support, from the early morning regulars to the families who made us part of their traditions. The recipes, the laughter, and the community spirit will stay with us forever. Thank you for making Honey Crème a cherished part of New Albany.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Honey Crème Donuts Family
