Recently Zac Owens filed a story at Louisville Business First about the rebranding of the bar inside Clayton & Crume. It’s a leather goods retailer in NuLu destined to be identified using the exhausted term “luxury.”
The company originally launched the bar in 2022 to offer cocktails to customers browsing the store, and as a pre-dinner cocktail venue.
The bar (“speak and rest easy”) has gone over so well that Clayton & Crume decided to make it official, hence Stitch bar.
NuLu retailer Clayton & Crume announced this week it plans to rebrand the speakeasy inside its store and expand its hours after receiving an overwhelming response from its customers.
Clayton & Crume is calling the reimagined concept “Stitch” in honor of Muhammad Ali’s sparring partner Ruddell Stitch. The store at 216 S. Shelby Street once housed Ali’s boxing gym.
