Crowne Plaza Louisville Airport Expo Center Hotel (830 Phillips Ln.) has completed a $25 million renovation that included the hotel lobby, lobby bar, guest rooms, and event spaces. As part of the renovation, the Crowne Plaza has opened Al’s Table Restaurant, named after the late local developer Al J. Schneider, whose Executive West hotel is the Crowne Plaza’s predecessor.
The restaurant opened on May 1, and an information release has more.
Al’s Table embodies everything its namesake loved about family dinners.
“Schneider and his wife, Thelma, had six children as well as several grandchildren and great- grandchildren. With so many people, the Schneider family’s Sunday dinner became a can’t-miss event. With this restaurant, we want to offer that Sunday family dinner experience to our guests, but with a Louisville twist we know both local families and out-of-town guests will appreciate.”
The executive chef at Al’s Table is Joe Horneman, and the menu was created by Kent Rathbun, a four-time Beard Award-nominated American chef and restaurateur who describes it as “an unexpected visit to grandma’s house.”
Guests can expect a variety of dining options as well including a daily breakfast buffet, fresh baked pastries and bread, and lunch and dinner buffet options for group events. Reservations are not required, but are accepted through OpenTable. Al’s Table is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner seven days a week.
