Glow Worm Café & Play’s second “third space” in Anchorage at 11603 Hazelwood Rd., which opened in May and provides kids six-and-under with myriad energy-sapping activities as parents hurriedly restore their caffeine levels, will close on Oct. 30.
Reporting at the Courier Journal, Killian Baarlaer says the decision was purely financial. Note also that while Baarlaer correctly refers to the 962 Barret Ave. location as being part of Germantown, the “original” Highlands is only a stone’s throw away, and the business markets itself as Glow Worm Highlands.

(Owner and operator Katie) Read said she’s been sinking revenue from the Germantown location into the Anchorage location to keep it afloat for the past few months, but continuing to do would be unsustainable.
