Has it really been almost seven years since Sapporo’s downtown location closed?
Prior to Sapporo, the space was home to another classic concept called Cafe Kilimanjaro, which enjoyed a 15-year run.
Now it’s to become Havana Night, a Cuban restaurant. As we’ve become accustomed, Michael L. Jones has the story at Louisville Business First.
Cuban restaurant slated to open in former Sapporo spot in Downtown Louisville
A new Cuban restaurant is coming to Downtown Louisville. Havana Night LLC plans to open at restaurant at 649 S. Fourth St., near the intersection of Broadway. The 4,500-square-foot building, which includes a patio, was previously occupied by the Downtown location of Sapporo Japanese Grill & Sushi, which closed in 2016.
One of Havana Night’s owners told Jones that the restaurant plans to open “soon.”
