In December, F & D reported that the former Tucker’s American Favorites floor space at 2441 State Street in New Albany was to be reimagined as two updated concepts.
Pluk’d and Good Bowl, coming where Tucker’s American Favorites used to be
The projected reimagination has proceeded apace, and the debuts of Pluk’d and Good Bowl are drawing near later this month. We’ve received more detailed information from owners Beau and Lindsey Kerley.
Bear in mind that this post is being written a few days ahead of time owing to my impending vacation, and that phone numbers and web sites won’t be active until the restaurants are. But get ready; they’re coming soon.

Pluk’d and Good Bowl will be opening this month. We’ve had setbacks in the opening date due to contractors’ delays in completing some of the renovations and sign installations. We anticipated opening Good Bowl Feb 10 but that will not be possible due to these delays.
Pluk’d (at Facebook) will serve all kinds of chicken: wings, tenders, sandwiches, salads, chicken & waffles, fried/grilled/blackened, etc. Plus we’ll have build-your-own-burgers/chicken sandwich options and a selection of pre-built specialty items. It will have beer towers, 18 taps, plus bottled beer and liquor. We’re offering dirty sodas for an upscale non-alcoholic drink choice too. There will be un-pluk’d items for those not wanting chicken like beer battered fish.
Good Bowl is a fast casual concept that will have pre-built salad and rice bowls or guests can easily build their own. Kale, spinach, romaine and spring mix will be the salad bases at opening while cilantro lime white, wild rice, and quinoa will be for rice bowls. There will be hot and cold topping options to be added as well as proteins like chicken, steak, salmon and hummus. Acai bowls will be available too. The concept is focused on cleaner ingredients for a delicious meal that is a healthier option. Gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options too with build-your-own bowls.
Each location will have different phone lines once we open. 812-924-1100 is for Pluk’d and 812-940-1100 is Good Bowl. The hours will be 11am-8pm daily for Good Bowl and 11am-at least 9pm for Pluk’d. We’re keeping the closing time open at this point, as we will stay open later for games and events and need to see what the level of business is later in the evenings.
Both restaurants will have online ordering for pick-up or delivery, as well as dine-in options. When the restaurants open, their websites will go live: www.plukdchicken.com and www.goodbowlfresh.com. Both locations will have their own custom apps for loyalty perks and ordering soon after opening.
