Wild Eggs is a locally-owned eatery that opened its first location in 2007. Our mission is to serve up elevated, unique dishes for breakfast, brunch, and lunch that everyone can enjoy together. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and to make everyone feel that warm welcome when they walk through the doors.
Currently Wild Eggs has 14 locations operating in nine cities situated in three states. That’s a lotta localism, and as a native New Albanian, it’s good to see the former Daisy’s Cafeteria (223 West 5th Street) become Wild Eggs’ 15th locally-owned eatery.
Locals will remember this location as Lancaster’s, then Daisy Mae’s, and finally Daisy’s. The latter did not reopen following its COVID shutdown, and locavores in New Albany have had fewer breakfast options given the ongoing suspension of Toast on Market a few blocks away from the forthcoming Wild Eggs.

Wild Eggs adding New Albany location
Breakfast and brunch favorite Wild Eggs is adding a New Albany, Indiana location.
The new restaurant will be located at 223 West 5th Street. This space formerly housed Daisy’s Cafeteria. Floyd County records show this land, which is near the Sherman MintNew on Bridge, is owned by Backyard Realty LLC.
This is the fifth Wild Eggs to open in Indiana and the fifteenth restaurant for the concept, according to a news release. The restaurant opening is targeted for the first half of 2022 and will employ approximately 50 people.
