The Fat Lamb Modern Kitchen and Bar perseveres, curbside, at 2011 Grinstead Drive.
“The neighborhood has given us some love,” a thankful Dallas McGarity told me last night. “As of now, we are still cooking.”
“We’re promoting a Mother’s Day menu that people can pick up, and we are planning a three course wine dinner people can take away. I’m kind of excited about the wine dinner takeaway.”
The wine dinner lies ahead, and in the meantime chef-owner McGarity wants diners to be aware of Fat Lamb gift cards.
“I’ve been telling people who want to help others to buy them a gift card online so they can order food. It’s great if you want to do something nice for medical personnel, essential workers, or first responders. It is an e-mailed gift card that can be redeemed when ordering online. It’s super easy and contact-less, properly distancing everyone involved.”
On-line ordering is here, and the Mother’s Day menu recently was featured at Fat Lamb’s Facebook page.

Previously the operating hours were extended, which is a positive.

Louisville diners know that McGarity stays busy; in addition to The Fat Lamb (profiled in F&D Vol. 61) and Portage House in Jeffersonville, he became chef-in-residence at Alex&nder (Copper & Kings) in mid-2019 after bringing home Louisville’s 2nd Chopped win of the year. However, the advent of the coronavirus caused Alex&nder to close shop temporarily on March 16; subsequently, McGarity put Portage House on hiatus to consolidate operations at The Fat Lamb.
